One of the more affordable Nseries phones, the Nokia N77 "multimedia computer"candybar phone started shipping today to retailers and providers in Finland, to be followed up with shipments to India and Vietnam later this month.
The news was more or less meaningless to the folks over here (the USA) and probably most countries in the world too. The reason? The N77 is a DVB-H handset, which means it supports the mobile television standard currently being pushed by Nokia. Unfortunately, DVB-H is still only available in select countries.
The flip side is that DVB-H should be coming to America later this year, but only through trial runs in larger markets (such as New York City).
Besides mobile TV and DVB-H, the N77 features a 2 megapixel camera, stereo sound, Symbian, and a 2.4 inch screen.

Nokia N75 and N76 to Debut in USA
Nokia wants you to know that two of its newer Nseries devices, the N75 and N75 phones, are now officially available in the United States as of May 31, 2007.
The N75 has been available through certain channels and providers (Amazon, AT&T, etc) for at least a month but this is the first time we've been hearing any kind of official announcement of its status.
The two phones are flip phones that run the Symbian operating system, and are slimmer than Nokia's previous flip'clamshell offerings.

News: Nokia 6300 Coming Soon to...Canada
So close! Nokia and Fido announced today that the Nokia 6300 phone is destined to hit North America by way of Canada.
The 6300 is one of Nokia's slimmer candy bar phones at 13.1mm, and features a stainless steel cover, 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, expandable microSD memory, and an 820 mAh lithium ion battery that provides enough juice for 3.5 hours of talk time.
Although the phone is debuting on Canada's largest mobile phone operator Fido, you can expect it to hit the USA in the future - it's already on the NokiaUsa site.
The price for a slim Nokia phone? (besides priceless) - $100, with a three-year contract. Uh...three-year contract? I don't even want a two-year contract!
Sadly, this seems to be part of a disturbing trend that I am sincerely hoping is not going to spread across the border. With rumors that AT&T has removed 1 year service agreements and Verizon has three-year plans already in the system, the future looks quite bleak for customers.

News: Nokia Stock Falls 2.71%
After a crazy run in the past 2 months, shares of Nokia stock retreated almost 3% mainly due to weakness in the overall market. Retailers reported a general softening in sales for April, which did make a nice dent in major indexes today.
Still, Nokia shares are up over 20% since March.

News: Going to China with the N95
Some guy named Peter Schindler is planning on taking a 20,000 kilometer road trip through China. "Project N95" is sponsored by - you guessed it! - Nokia.
Mr. Schindler will start traveling on May 9, and will complete his trip on August 12. During this time, he'll be armed with a whole series of Nseries devices and will be blogging his way to the finish line.
The project is partially meant to garner awareness for the world's most populous country, partially meant to raise funds for the China Youth Development Foundation, and partially meant to serve as an auto-updating Nokia advertisement. Okay, I admit it: I'm jealous that he gets a free sports car as well as a bunch of free Nokia phones AND gets to drive around and chill with the Chinese folks for 3 months. Although the sports car gets auctioned off at the end of the journey with the proceeds going to the aforementioned charity.

News: Nokia sued by someone other than Qualcomm
Unknown company Michael S. Sutton Ltd. filed a complaint against Nokia, citing patent infringement for "data package technology."
The company, which seems to be located in New Zealand, filed another complaint in the past, only to dismiss the case. Why they are going after Nokia again in unclear.
Unfortunately, I could not find one single bit of useful information regarding the company other than the previous lawsuit vs. Nokia.
Shares of Nokia rose 1.5% to $25.71.

News: It's Official: Nokia N95 Out in USA
It's out. The fabled Nokia N95 slider phone has arrived in the United States to throngs of screaming fans and gate crashers. Okay, maybe not, but Nokia Flagship stores in New York and Chicago "experienced a rush of eager fans, some that have been on the waiting list for months," if the Nokia press release is anything to go by.
